Your 9 to 12 month development review

Every child grows and learns in their own way

We are looking forward to seeing you and your child and hearing about the things they enjoy and the things that are important to your family.

The 9 to 12 month review is a chance to talk about your child’s health, growth and learning.

playing toys

We can answer questions, share ideas and help you find support if you need it.

To find out more about the review, including the Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ), watch our video and explore development information, visit the what to expect at your child’s development review webpage

Helpful information and resources

Every baby grows and learns at their own pace.

Spending time together, exploring new things and having fun supports your baby’s development.

You do not need expensive toys. Everyday moments like reading a book, singing songs or playing on the floor together all help your baby learn.

Your baby may now be enjoying lots of different foods alongside their usual milk feeds.

Sharing meals and snacks with your baby can help them learn about food and eating.

Start brushing teeth as soon as your baby’s first tooth appears.

Regular toothbrushing helps keep teeth healthy and prevents tooth decay.

High kneeling

Your baby may now be crawling, cruising or finding new ways to explore.

As babies grow and become more mobile, it is a good time to think about safety at home, on the go and around water.

Small changes can help your baby explore, play and learn safely.
