This page brings together trusted information and local support for families with school‑aged children (4 to 11), including health, wellbeing, safety, and where to get help in Leeds.
Our 0 to 19 practitioners see all children in Leeds during their primary school years to offer important health checks and support. You can find more information in the section on the National Child Measurement Programme (NCMP) and vision screening below.
Before your child starts school, you will:
receive a short questionnaire about your child’s health and development. This helps us understand if your child or family needs any extra support.
We will then see your child in school when they are:
Aged 4 to 5 years (reception year)
Aged 10 to 11 years (year 6)
If you would like support or advice, explore our pages for simple, trusted advice about your child’s health, development and wellbeing.
