If alcohol or drugs are making life harder for you, support is available. Asking for help can help you feel healthier, happier and more in control.
Getting support can also make family life easier and help children feel safe, loved and supported. Services are there to listen, not judge, and can help you find the right support for your situation.

Forward Leeds offers the following:
Support for adults
- Help to cut down, stop or safely manage alcohol or drug use
- One‑to‑one support, harm‑reduction advice and structured treatment
Support for young people (up to age 24)
- Tailored advice and support for young people
- A dedicated phone/text line and specialist workers
Support for families
- A specialist family plus service
- Support with routines, behaviour, relationships, emotional wellbeing and family activities

Emotional well being and mental health
Looking after your emotional health and wellbeing is an important part of staying healthy. If you are feeling stressed, worried, low, overwhelmed, or finding it hard to cope, support is available.
Talking to someone can help you feel understood and find ways to manage what you are going through. Reaching out for support is a positive step, and services are there to listen and help without judgement.

Read the mental health self help guides
Free NHS self‑help guides for a wide range of feelings and conditions, such as anxiety, stress, low mood or panic.

Visit the PANDAS Foundation website, it offers support if you are experiencing anxiety, low mood, depression or other mental health difficulties during pregnancy or after birth.
You can access helplines, online groups and parent‑friendly information.

Samaritans: Call 116 123, you can contact Samaritans at any time, day or night, if you need someone to talk to.

Visit the Andy’s Man Club website for free, confidential space where men aged 18+ can meet to talk, listen and get peer support with their mental health.
It helps dads connect with others who understand what they’re going through, without needing to book or register.

- Provides support and talking therapies for people aged 17 and over who are registered with a Leeds GP.
- They help with common mental health problems such as stress, anxiety, depression and low mood. You can refer yourself online without needing to see a GP first.

Smoking and vaping
Stopping smoking can help you feel healthier and have more energy. It can also help you save money and do more of the things you enjoy. Smoke from cigarettes can be harmful to children and other people around you. Stopping smoking can help keep your family healthy and make your home a healthier place to be. You do not have to do it on your own. Support is available to help you make changes in a way that works for you.

West Yorkshire Healthier Together: Stop smoking provides clear advice for people who are pregnant, partners and families, and helps you find services near you.

Leeds Stop Smoking Service provides free, confidential support to help people in Leeds stop smoking.
It’s open to anyone who wants to quit, and provides a wide range of practical tools and personalised support.
