Supporting families to thrive in Leeds
Family life can bring lots of changes and challenges as children grow.
Whether it’s finding routines that work, supporting children’s wellbeing or making time to be active together every family is different.
That’s where HENRY can help.

Available across Leeds, the 0 to 19 Public Health Service alongside Healthy Schools offer the free HENRY programmes for families with children aged 0 to 5 years and 5 to 12 years.
The programmes provide:
- practical ideas li>
- information and support to help families build on what is already working well
- and explore new ways to support their family’s health and wellbeing.
Many people think HENRY is only about healthy eating or parenting. While these are important parts of the programme, HENRY offers much more.
It takes a whole-family approach helping families understand how everyday experiences relationships and habits can support children’s growth development and wellbeing. p>

HENRY 0 to 5 (0 to 19 service)

The early years are an important time for children’s growth and development.
HENRY 0 to 5 supports parents and carers with practical ideas and information to help give children the best possible start in life.

- support children’s emotional wellbeing
- build positive parent-child relationships
- create enjoyable family routines
- feel more confident as a parent or carer

HENRY 5 to 12 (Healthy schools)

As children grow family life changes and new opportunities and challenges can arise.
HENRY 5 to 12 supports families with practical ideas and support for these important years.
The programme can help families to:
- develop healthy routines that fit family life
- encourage children’s confidence and independence
- strengthen communication and relationships
- support emotional wellbeing
- make healthy changes together as a family
