Thanks a Bunch Helen Barwell and Sarah Palmer!

We are delighted to announce the winner of our July Thanks a Bunch award is Helen Barwell and Sarah Palmer.

Helen and Sara were nominated by a staff member in recognition of the exceptional support, compassion, and professionalism they demonstrate consistently in their roles.

In the nomination, they said “Over a prolonged period of personal difficulty, including significant health challenges and family circumstances, Sarah and Helen have provided unwavering support. They have always made themselves available as a listening ear during particularly challenging times. Their approach is defined by empathy and understanding - they listen without judgment or assumption, creating a safe and supportive space that has been invaluable.”

Helen and Sarah were presented with flowers and certificates by Jenny Allen, Director of People, who said “You have both provide your colleague with an enormous amount of support as she has struggled with some personal issues. She also goes onto say how much support you also give to the wider team and you both truly live the trust values. Without your support, the team wouldn’t be the place it is to work. We can’t ask for more than you do, thank you so much and a massive well done to both of you.

It is such a privilege to do this because when I read this, I think this is just amazing in terms of the support you give to staff. Again, a massive well done and thank you!”

When Helen and Sarah were present with flowers, Sarah said “I was genuinely touched and quite emotional to receive the thanks a bunch award. Knowing that I was able to support a colleague through a difficult time means more to me than I can put into words. The recognition is especially meaningful as it reflects the important work we do every day within the Safeguarding Team. I’m proud to be part of such a dedicated and caring team, and I’m truly grateful for this nomination and recognition.”

Thanks a Bunch, is all about recognising and celebrating colleagues who make a positive difference every day. It provides a simple way for staff to say thank you to one another by nominating individuals or teams who deserve recognition.
