Important changes to the specialist podiatry service

August 29, 2025

The podiatry service currently provide clinical sessions at 18 health centres or clinics throughout the city. Podiatry is a specialist service offering care to:

  • adults with foot wounds and foot infections
  • adults and children with foot or ankle pain affecting daily activities
  • adults and children requiring nail surgery

Specialist NHS podiatry services must ensure that eligible patients are able to access the right skilled practitioner, at the right time, within the resources we have available.

The podiatry service will no longer be working out of the following clinics or health centres:

  • Bramley
  • Kippax

We will be focusing all our resources into providing clinical sessions in the following clinics or health centres:

  • Armley
  • Chapeltown
  • East Leeds
  • Halton
  • Hunslet
  • Holt Park
  • Meanwood

In addition we will provide specialist foot and ankle pain clinics from Woodhouse.

These sites will ensure we provide improved availability throughout the week and better access to specialist clinicians. All the above sites are accessible by public transport and free parking. Most clinics are ground floor rooms and at Armley Moor Health Centre we have a tipper chair where we can support our wheelchair users.

We will write to any patients on the caseloads affected by the change offering choice of any of the 13 sites across the city named above. The change is most likely to be from 1 January 2026.
