Free NHS-endorsed online parenting courses
October 1, 2026
Families across Leeds can now access a wide range of free online parenting courses and resources thanks to a partnership between Leeds 0 to 19 Public Health Integrated Nursing Service and Togetherness UK, a leading provider of evidence-based parenting support and emotional wellbeing learning.
The service is funding free access to the Togetherness online parenting programme for all families in Leeds. The courses are designed to help parents, carers and grandparents support children from pregnancy through to the teenage years to build strong relationships, improve wellbeing and give children the best possible start in life.
Togetherness, previously known as the Solihull Parenting Approach, provides trusted information and advice to help families understand children's feelings, behaviour and development. It is a well-known model developed by psychologists and healthcare professionals. Parents and carers can learn more about how children's brains develop, why children behave the way they do, and how positive relationships help children feel safe, secure and understood.
Families can choose from a range of courses in numerous languages, including:
- Pregnancy, antenatal and postnatal support (including neonatal care)
- Understanding your child from toddler to teenager (including support for children with additional needs)
- Understanding adolescence for parents and young people
- Support for parent wellbeing and relationships
More than 330,000 people have already used Togetherness courses, with over 90% saying they were satisfied with their learning experience.
Nigel Hodgkins, Head of Service, 0 to 19 Public Health Integrated Nursing Service said: "We know that caring relationships help children feel happy, safe and supported as they grow. Togetherness offers helpful information and support for families with children of all ages. The resources are easy to use and can help parents, carers and families learn more about how relationships support children’s growth and wellbeing. I hope families find these resources useful and discover ideas and support that are right for them.”
Families living in Leeds can register by visiting the Togetherness UK website to access the programme. The sessions can be completed at any time, on any device, and at a pace that suits each family. They are private, flexible and designed to fit around busy family life.
