Talking about his motivation for signing up, Simon Toyne, Leeds Mental Wellbeing Service Team Manager said, “There is something inherently motivating in committing to do an organised race, even if it is just the determination to finish it without stopping when others are watching.

To incorporate that as a way to raise money towards a worthy cause, such as LCH Charity brings an added sense of positive accountability towards those sponsoring me and to help improve lives a little more, through doing something I consider leisure and fun.”

The funds raised by the Charity make a real difference in improving patient care and experience. Running has always been a passion of mine—it’s not just about fitness but also about mental wellbeing and “me time,” especially balancing life as a new mum and returning to exercise after having a baby.”
