Information for other professionals
The Speech and Swallowing team is commissioned to provide communication and dysphagia input to people whose needs are linked to:
- a neurological condition
- a respiratory condition
- frailty
- being near the end of life
If the person you are concerned about does not fit this criteria then please see our page on signposting to other services
If the person you are concerned about lives in a care home then we encourage referrals directly from care home staff. Care home staff can also contact us directly on the care home advice line to discuss patients. We expect care homes to provide basic dysphagia management without SLT assessment (for example, implementing safe swallowing strategies).
