June Thanks a Bunch

June 26, 2026

We are delighted to announce the winner of our June Thanks a Bunch award is Armley Neighbourhood team and neighbourhood nursing out-of-hours service.

Armley Neighbourhood team and neighbourhood nursing out-of-hours service were nominated by a patients family member for the best care and been very supportive towards the family.

In the nomination, they said “I just wanted to let you know how brilliant those staff have been; they were lovely with my brother (and his co-tenant) and the staff team and also very supportive of my family. It was very pleasing to observe how the nurses worked alongside the care team as colleagues recognising their expertise and detailed knowledge of my brother whilst augmenting his care with their own unique skills, this was partnership working and relational care at its best”.

The team was presented with a cake and certificate by Sam Prince, Director of Operations, who said “I have come today as we have had such a massive compliment about the care you have given. I wanted to come and say, in trust terms ‘Thanks a Bunch’. This compliment is from a patient’s family member who you worked with and they just wanted to express how much they appreciated how much you had done for them and the family. The family wanted to say you went over and above for what anyone may have expected of a team. Thank you very much and it is really appreciated.”

Sam also visited the neighbourhood nursing out-of-hours service to present the tea

m with a cake and certificate in recognition of their outstanding commitment and vital contribution to patient care.

When the team was present with flowers, Rachel Bishop worked alongside this patient and said “We feel extremely proud as a team that we were able to facilitate Adrian to pass away at home, surrounded by his family and carers, especially as we are led to believe that Adrian was the only person in supported living who was able to do so this in the last year.

It was great that we were able to work together with the wider MDT and find a solution to the barriers that he faced in receiving appropriate treatment, and ultimately allowed him a dignified death at home, surrounded by his loved ones.”

Thanks a Bunch is all about recognising and celebrating colleagues who make a positive difference every day. It provides a simple way for staff to say thank you to one another by nominating individuals or teams who deserve recognition.

Congratulations to Armley Neighbourhood Team and Neighbourhood Nursing Out-of-Hours Service, and thank you for demonstrating such outstanding commitment, courage and compassion.
