How we help
We are here to help you with your weight and health. We support people who are living with obesity. Our team will work with you to help you lose weight safely and keep it off. We want to help you feel better and live a healthier life. We will work with you to set goals that are important to you.
Who is in our team?
Our team includes:
- A doctor
- Dietitians
- A CBT therapist
- A mental health practitioner
- A psychiatrist (mental health doctor)
- A physiotherapist (helps with movement and exercise)
- A weight management facilitator (takes weight, height and blood pressure)
What support can you get?
We have 3 treatment choices called pathways. Your care team will help you choose the one that is best for you.
Lifestyle and natural weight loss pathway
Lifestyle and natural weight loss pathway
What this means:
- 1-to-1 and group support.
- help from dietitians, plus mental health workers, CBT therapists, and physiotherapists if needed.
- support to improve your food, movement, sleep, and how you feel.
- regular support over a number of months.
Who this is for:
- people who want to lose weight naturally.
- people who do not want to use medicines or surgery.
- people who want to feel better, move more, or learn to manage their weight.
Weight loss medication pathway (GLP-1)
Weight loss medication pathway (GLP-1)
What this means:
- 1-to-1 and group support.
- help to change your lifestyle whilst taking weight loss medication.
- regular check-ins to see how the medicine is working and manage side effects.
- please note that there may be a long waiting time to start the medication.
Who this is for:
- people with a BMI of 40 kg/m² or more.
- people who have specific health conditions.
- your care team will check if this is right for you.
Bariatric surgery pathway
Bariatric surgery pathway
What this means:
- 1-to-1 and group support.
- help to prepare your body and mind for surgery.
- information about types of weight loss surgery.
- access to support groups and trusted information.
- please note that there may be a long wait time to have the surgery.
Who this is for:
- people with a BMI of 40kg/m2 or more.
- people with a BMI of 35kg/m2 or more with specific health conditions.
- people who are ready to make long-term changes.
Important information
- People from Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic backgrounds may be offered support at a lower BMI.
